What is Corfix Scheduling, and how does it compare to BuildOps?

A safety platform that schedules, and a field service platform that also plans projects.

Corfix Scheduling is the crew scheduling module of a construction safety and compliance platform; BuildOps is a field service and project operations platform built for commercial specialty contractors. In Corfix, every active project carries a colour-coded readiness status, the Worker and Asset Bench holds your roster and equipment beside the schedule, and Overview Mode shows the week for every project on one grid. Set the certifications a project requires and Corfix warns you at the moment you schedule someone who is missing one or whose certification has expired. Underneath the schedule is the rest of the platform: certification records with expiry, digital forms, incident and hazard reporting, corrective actions, site binders reachable by QR code, and a direct AuditSoft connection for COR audits.

BuildOps is built for commercial service contractors. Its dispatch board assigns technicians by skill, certification and distance to the job, with OpsAI ranking who to send. Its Projects suite adds resource planning by phase, skill and cost code across active projects, document control for RFIs and submittals, and project financials. Quoting, invoicing, maintenance agreements, CRM, asset history and ERP sync with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Viewpoint Vista and Viewpoint Spectrum round it out.

What is the real difference between Corfix and BuildOps?

What the schedule is built on, and what kind of contractor you are.

Corfix schedules from a safety program and BuildOps schedules from a skills register inside a financial system; that is the difference that decides between them. Both platforms track certifications with expiry dates and both use them when a worker is assigned. In BuildOps, certifications live in a Skills and Certifications register, and a job can require specific certifications so only qualified technicians appear when dispatching. In Corfix, the requirement lives on the project, and the same platform that holds the certification also holds the incident reports, hazard assessments, corrective actions, toolbox talks and inspection forms that make up a safety program. When a general contractor asks how you manage safety, an insurer asks at renewal, or a COR assessor asks for the file, that record is already assembled in the system your schedule runs on, and AuditSoft can pull it straight into the audit.

The second difference is who each product is for. BuildOps serves commercial MEP, fire and life safety, and refrigeration contractors, and its value grows with the billing, service agreements and ERP connections that sit behind the schedule. Corfix serves construction companies across trades, general contractors and subcontractors alike, and its value is a safety and compliance record the whole company runs on, with scheduling and timekeeping added to it.

What does Corfix do that BuildOps doesn’t?

Carries the whole safety program behind the schedule.

Corfix holds the safety program itself, and BuildOps holds a credential check aimed at dispatch. BuildOps tracks skills on a proficiency scale and certifications with issue dates, expirations and documents, and it uses them to route the right technician to the right job. Site profiles can carry required badges and safety trainings per facility. That is a real compliance layer.

In Corfix, incident management, hazard reporting, corrective actions, toolbox talks, inspection forms and their history live in the same platform the schedule reads from, so the certification warning at scheduling is one output of a record that also answers an auditor, an insurer or a GC’s prequalification questionnaire. AuditSoft connects directly, and an auditor can search and attach Corfix documents inside a COR audit without waiting on an export.

Where is BuildOps stronger than Corfix?

Service work, and everywhere money meets the schedule.

BuildOps is stronger on service dispatch and on everything tied to billing. Corfix doesn’t dispatch. There is no technician ranking by distance, no route matching, no maintenance agreement management, no quoting or invoicing, no CRM and no inventory. If your operation runs on inbound service calls, planned maintenance contracts and billing from completed work orders, BuildOps is built for exactly that.

BuildOps also ties its project crew planning to cost codes, budgets and WIP, with labour requests flowing from the project plan to a resource board and a 60 to 90 day forward view for hiring decisions. Corfix Scheduling shows coverage and certification status per project per day; it does not carry cost codes or budgets into the schedule.

Should you choose Corfix or BuildOps?

It depends on what your company has to prove.

Choose BuildOps if you are a commercial MEP, fire or refrigeration contractor running service calls and projects with the same crews and you want dispatch, crew planning, quoting, invoicing and accounting in one system.

Choose Corfix if you run construction projects across trades and the thing your company has to hold up is its safety program, whether to a GC, an insurer or a COR assessor. Scheduling in Corfix is one more place that program does its job, before a worker reaches the site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does BuildOps track certifications? Yes. Its Skills and Certifications system tracks issue dates, expirations and documents, and jobs can require specific certifications so only qualified technicians appear when dispatching. Corfix also warns at scheduling against a project’s required certifications, and holds the incident, hazard and corrective action records behind that certification in the same platform.

Does BuildOps do project crew scheduling, or only dispatch? Both. Its dispatch board handles service calls, and its Projects suite includes resource planning that assigns crews by phase, skill and cost code across active projects. Corfix Scheduling covers project crews only, with a colour-coded readiness status per project per day and a safety program behind it.

Does BuildOps integrate with AuditSoft? AuditSoft is not among BuildOps’ listed integrations. Corfix connects to AuditSoft directly, so an auditor can search and attach Corfix documents inside a COR audit.

Does Corfix warn you when a worker isn’t certified for a site? Yes. Set the certifications a project requires, and Corfix warns you at the moment you schedule a worker who is missing one or whose certification has expired. Expired counts the same as missing. The check runs off the certification records already in Corfix.

Can Corfix replace BuildOps? Not for service work or billing. Corfix doesn’t dispatch, route, quote, invoice or manage maintenance agreements. What Corfix provides is the safety and compliance program, certification tracking and crew scheduling, which BuildOps does not carry as a safety program.
