The Fit Problem

eCompliance does the core compliance work. It digitizes forms, tracks inspections, and logs incidents. For a safety manager in retail or industrial manufacturing, it does what it’s supposed to do.

But construction isn’t retail. A GC managing subtrades across multiple active sites has different problems than a facilities manager at a plant. Hazard assessments need to tie to specific crews. Certifications have to be verifiable on-site when a GC asks. Cost codes need to map to projects, not just departments. And time tracking needs to live in the same daily workflow as safety forms, because if it doesn’t, workers treat them as separate things and one of them stops getting done.

eCompliance doesn’t have native timekeeping. It doesn’t integrate with the payroll and ERP systems construction companies actually run. And its customization options are limited enough that users across review platforms consistently describe it as an “out of the box” solution: fine for what it ships with, difficult to adapt to how your sites actually operate.

Every month, we’re shipping features designed specifically for how construction teams work. Here’s a sample of what we’ve released recently:

Real-time form-initiation alerts. When a worker kicks off an incident report or a critical form, the right people are notified the moment it starts, not after it’s been signed off by everyone else. On a site where safety needs to step in fast, waiting hours to find out matters.

Form version history with configurable re-signing workflows. A complete record of every change made to a form, with four configurable options for how signers are handled when a form gets updated. Full auditability, no guesswork about which version of the form someone signed.

Digital certification cards. From the Corfix app, workers can generate a shareable image of any certification in their profile, complete with your company’s logo and brand colors. When a GC asks to see a credential on-site, they’re not scrambling for a PDF.

Offline certification access. Workers can access their certifications without a signal. Underground, remote, or anywhere with bad reception, compliance doesn’t pause.

Cost code filtering by project. Workers only see the cost codes that apply to their active project, instead of scrolling through a list of fifty to find the two that matter.

Multi-level cost code hierarchies. Cost codes now support up to three levels of segmentation, with workers guided through selection automatically. For anyone doing detailed job costing or running complex reporting, this is a meaningful upgrade.

Every one of those features exists because someone on a construction site needed it built. That’s the direction Corfix follows, not a list of periodic updates.

What Adoption Actually Looks Like

A safety platform only works if field workers use it. That sounds obvious, but it’s the thing that tends to get lost in software evaluations, which are almost always conducted by safety managers, not by the workers filling out forms on a site at 7am.

Zehr Group came to Corfix needing to build out their safety documentation for COR certification. Before Corfix, their Health and Safety Manager described what audits looked like: “It probably took me three months to do something I could have done in maybe two weeks with Corfix, maybe even less.”

After implementing Corfix across their sites, Zehr’s form submissions went up 380% in under a year. Not because the requirements changed, but because workers found it easy enough to actually do it.

Their internal COR audit score jumped from 44% to 81%. They’re now COR certified.

Bassi Construction moved their safety processes to Corfix and saved the equivalent of a full-time salary in administrative overhead through digitizing forms alone.
